A double-storey thatched home on a corner stand in the stately Cape Dutch division of the Fancourt Country and Golf Estate in George will soon be auctioned by the Michael James Organisation, as instructed by the trustees in the matter of Insolvent Estate AB Smit.

The magnificent estate, a five-star leisure destination, features three Gary Player-designed golf courses which are ranked in the Top 20 in South Africa, says the auction house’s CJ du Toit.

“Fancourt’s upmarket and outstanding facilities also offer its residents a lifestyle comparable to that enjoyed at any other top destination in the world.”

The four-bedroomed home, which Du Toit describes as “truly superb”, has quality finishes throughout, and includes a large tiled kitchen with wash area and granite tops; and an open-plan dining area and TV lounge with built-in fireplace, leading to a separate braai room and patio.

Two of the bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms, and a study are located on the ground floor. The other two bedrooms are situated upstairs, as are another study and a bathroom. The property also includes both a double and a single garage.

The auction will be held on site at 31 Eagle Drive, Fancourt Golf Estate, George, at 11am on Thursday, 3 July. Viewing of the property will take place between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday, 29 June.
